Job Description:
Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Retail (Construction Chemicals)
Location: Mumbai- Central ,Western , Harbour
Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager / National Sales Head
Job Purpose:
To drive sales growth, market penetration, and brand visibility for the company’s construction chemical products through retail channels, dealer networks, and influencers (contractors, applicators, architects, etc.) within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for construction chemical products through retail and distribution channels.
- Identify, appoint, and manage a network of distributors, dealers, and retailers.
- Develop new markets and increase product reach in assigned geography.
- Ensure consistent growth in sales volume, market share, and profitability.
- Channel Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, and influencers.
- Monitor distributor performance, stock levels, and credit management.
- Conduct regular visits to retail outlets and ensure effective merchandising and branding.
- Market Development & Promotion
- Conduct product demonstrations, influencer meets, and retailer engagement programs.
- Promote new product launches and ensure proper visibility at point of sale.
- Gather and analyze competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Customer Relationship & Service
- Handle customer queries and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Support technical teams in site trials and application support where required.
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Coordinate with supply chain, marketing, and finance teams for order processing, dispatch, and collections.
- Plan and execute territory-wise sales and marketing activities.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of construction chemicals, building materials, or paint industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Channel management and retail sales expertise.
- Result-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate / Diploma in Civil Engineering or Science; MBA (Marketing) preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in retail sales of construction chemicals, paints, waterproofing, adhesives, or related products.
