Job Description:
A Sales Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and developing strategic sales plans. Key duties include conducting market research, generating leads, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with sales and marketing teams to achieve revenue targets. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, often with a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Identify new opportunities: Research new markets, client segments, and potential business opportunities to drive growth.
  • Build relationships: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute strategy: Create and implement sales and business development strategies to meet revenue goals.
  • Generate leads: Pursue leads through networking, outbound outreach, and collaboration with marketing to generate new prospects.
  • Negotiate and close deals: Lead negotiations, draft agreements, and finalize strategic partnerships and deals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams: Work with sales, marketing, and product development teams to align strategies and ensure goals are met.
  • Monitor performance: Track progress against business development targets and analyze performance metrics to ensure corporate goals are met.
  • Represent the company: Attend industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the company and build its network.
  • Train and mentor: Coach and mentor junior sales staff to improve their skills and capabilities. 
 
Required skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is often required.
  • Proven track record in sales and a strong understanding of the company's products or services.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools for tracking leads and progress.
  • Deep knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, and industry insights.
