Job Summary

The Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, goods, and services required by the organization. The role involves vendor management, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring timely procurement while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Vendor Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with suppliers and vendors.
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to ensure cost-effectiveness.
    • Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  2. Procurement Operations:
    • Prepare purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational purchasing policies and procedures.
    • Source materials as per project or departmental requirements.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the inventory team to replenish supplies as needed.
    • Maintain records of purchased goods, including delivery schedules and quality reports.
  4. Cost Optimization:
    • Analyze price trends and market conditions to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
    • Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, suppliers, and pricing information.
    • Generate regular reports on procurement activities, costs, and vendor performance.
  6. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure adherence to legal, safety, and quality standards in procurement processes.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement and supply chain.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  1. Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/Instrumentation Engineer or a related field.
  2. Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management best practices.
  3. Other Requirements:
    • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
    • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
