Plant Head

Job Description:

• Overall Plant Leadership:
  
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the plant team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term operational plans to achieve production targets, improve efficiency, and maximise profitability.
  • Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, planning, procurement, quality, safety, and maintenance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions to address any deviations from targets.
• Production & Planning:
  
  • Plan and schedule production runs to meet customer demand and optimise resource utilisation.
  • Ensure efficient and timely production of high-quality products while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor production performance and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, yield, and productivity.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Procurement & Quality:
  
  • Manage the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the entire production process.
  • Implement and maintain a robust quality management system, including food safety programs (e.g., HACCP, FSSC 22000).
  • Conduct regular quality audits and take corrective actions as needed.
• Safety & Maintenance:
  
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
  • Implement and maintain a robust safety program, including regular safety training and inspections.
  • Oversee plant maintenance activities to ensure equipment is properly maintained and operating efficiently.
  • Manage plant budgets and ensure cost-effective utilisation of resources.
• Team Management:
  
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of production supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Recruit, hire, and train qualified personnel as needed.
