Job Description:
A "Sand Foundry Shift Incharge" is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a sand casting production line within a foundry, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high quality standards, managing a team of workers, and strictly adhering to safety protocols within their assigned shift, all while focusing on the specific processes involved in creating molds using sand. 
 
Key responsibilities may include:
  • Production Management:
    • Monitoring and managing production output to meet daily targets. 
       
    • Identifying and addressing production bottlenecks. 
       
    • Optimizing workflow and ensuring efficient use of resources. 
       
    • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency. 
       
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspecting sand molds for defects and ensuring proper casting quality. 
       
    • Implementing quality checks throughout the production process. 
       
    • Identifying and resolving quality issues promptly. 
       
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervising and assigning tasks to a team of foundry workers. 
       
    • Providing training and development opportunities for team members. 
       
    • Addressing employee concerns and maintaining positive team morale. 
       
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Enforcing strict safety procedures and regulations within the foundry 
       
    • Conducting safety inspections and addressing safety hazards immediately 
       
    • Promoting a culture of safety awareness among the team 
       
  • Maintenance and Equipment Oversight:
    • Monitoring the condition of sand mixing and molding equipment 
       
    • Coordinating necessary maintenance and repairs 
       
    • Ensuring proper operation and calibration of equipment 
       
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintaining accurate production records and shift reports 
       
    • Analyzing production data to identify areas for improvement 
       
    • Communicating relevant information to supervisors and other departments 
       
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Foundry experience: Proven experience working in a sand foundry environment, with a thorough understanding of sand casting processes. 
     
  • Leadership abilities: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team 
     
  • Quality focus: Strong commitment to quality standards and procedures 
     
  • Technical knowledge: Understanding of foundry equipment and machinery 
     
  • Safety awareness: Commitment to safety protocols and practices 
     
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve production issues effectively
