Job Title: Tableau Developer (5-9 Years of Experience)

Introduction:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tableau Developer with 5-9 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Tableau development, data visualization, and analytics, along with advanced SQL skills and a solid understanding of business intelligence principles. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex data projects, create actionable insights, and make a direct impact on business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dashboard Development & Visualization: Design, develop, and maintain complex, interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau that communicate business insights clearly and effectively.
• Data Integration & ETL: Collaborate with data engineers to ensure the smooth integration of data from various sources (e.g., SQL databases, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms) into Tableau. Cleanse and transform data as needed.
• SQL & Data Querying: Write complex SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and aggregate data from relational and non-relational databases.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize Tableau dashboards and workbooks for performance, particularly when working with large datasets.
• Advanced Calculations & Analytical Functions: Use advanced Tableau features like calculated fields, table calculations, and Level of Detail (LOD) expressions to create dynamic reports.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and leadership to gather requirements and ensure that Tableau visualizations meet business objectives.
• Data Quality & Accuracy: Ensure high-quality, accurate data in reports and dashboards, performing data validation and troubleshooting any discrepancies.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest Tableau features, best practices, and industry trends, and implement improvements to existing reports and dashboards.
• Documentation & Training: Document Tableau reports and dashboards, and provide training to business users on how to leverage Tableau for self-service reporting and analysis.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 5-9 years of hands-on experience in Tableau development and data visualization.
• Tableau Expertise: Deep knowledge of Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Tableau Online, and Tableau Prep.
• Advanced SQL Skills: Strong experience writing complex SQL queries, optimizing queries, and understanding database concepts.
• Data Modeling & Data Sources: Experience working with different data sources like relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL), cloud-based databases (Redshift, Snowflake), and flat files (Excel, CSV).
• Data Blending & Joins: Proficiency in blending data from multiple sources and creating complex relationships using Tableau.
• Performance Tuning: Experience optimizing large Tableau workbooks and dashboards for performance improvements.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to perform in-depth data analysis, create actionable insights, and present findings clearly.
• ETL & Data Transformation: Familiarity with ETL tools and processes (e.g., Alteryx, Informatic) to ensure data readiness.
• Business Acumen: Ability to understand business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver data-driven insights.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify data issues, optimize queries, and resolve technical problems in Tableau workbooks.
• Version Control & Collaboration Tools: Experience with Git or other version control systems for tracking changes to Tableau workbooks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: Tableau Desktop Certified Associate or higher, Tableau Server Certified Associate.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Scripting Languages: Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, R) for advanced analytics and integration with Tableau.
• Other BI Tools: Experience with other BI tools such as Power BI or QlikView is a plus.
• Project Management: Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies for managing development projects.
