Position:           Safety Manager

 Responsibilities:  

• Expertise in implementation at site of PSM like PHA, MOC, PSSR, OSEP, CSM etc
• Expertise for identify the gap in Process safety control barrier by Hazop, SIL & QRA study for hydrogenation etc and have had the ownership to initiate to implement all the recommendations at site.
• Safety Improvement plan and annual safety plan identification, preparation & implementation
• Prepare Training need identification and training need assessment
• Expertise in Safety related class room traing programs. Require to conduct twice in a week for 1-2 hours.
• Preparing Job safety Analysis (JSA) of Non-routine works Hot works (Welding, gas cutting, grinding), Confined Space entry, Hot work in Confined space.
• Preparation and revision of Safe Operating Procedures of all EHS activities like Storage and safe handling of Hazardous Chemicals, Hydro jetting, Contractor safety Management System, liquid Nitrogen Unloading, Scaffolding & Work at height, Hazardous Communication, Laboratory Safety, Work permit system Use, types, inspection & maintenance of PPE, Fire Fighting & OSEP.
• To ensure safe working procedures are implemented
• Arrange for Mock drill and provide the training on On Site Emergency Plan & ensure all mock drill observations are compiled.
• Raise the requirements for fulfilling the compliance of GFR 1963 Sch XIX
• To ensure that all necessary safety procedures for controlling the risks are properly implemented before the work is started.
• Preparation of Chemical master list and MSDS master file for all Finish Goods, Raw materials, Catalysts
• Conduct Contractor Safety, Housekeeping and electrical, PSM audit once in every month for all plants and prepared recommendation for improvement to all action by party. Ensure all recommendations should complete.
• To investigate accidents and incidents to identify their causes and to determine how they might be prevented
• Accident Investigation, fault findings, implementation of CAPA
• Daily all plants round, identify of Process deviation and process safety near miss, Unsafe Acts and Unsafe Conditions, implementation of CAPA and send the reports to action owners.
• To maintain the accident/incident statistics as per category and root cause analysis.
• Daily inspection of emergency preparedness of the plants
• To ensure safe working procedures are implemented
• Overall Legal and Safety aspects of VOL U1 Site.
• Daily plant round Department wise
• Identify unsafe work practices, condition and acts
• Provide Tool box talk and class room training for EHS related matter
• Unsafe Acts, Unsafe Conditions and Near miss/ Incident/Accident Reporting.
• Reporting of unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and its corrective and preventive actions to be implemented
• Investigation and corrective and preventive action of near miss/incident/accident.
• Emergency Handling
• Emergency handling as and when required.
• Evacuate employees safety to assembly point during emergency situation.
• Effective implementation of Work permit system and their safeguard for safe system of work.
• Work permit issuance as and when required & keep it recorded in logbook
• Check the work condition before start up the work
• Procedure for the verification of Fire detection systems (Smoke detectors and sensor Systems)
• To inspect, testing of fire detection systems installed in the plant and maintain the healthiness all the time.
• Storage and handling of Hazardous materials and its monitoring.
• Inspection of hazardous material storage area.
• Ensure hazardous materials are store, handle with required safety measures of employees.
• Maintain the healthiness of Fire suppression system and CO2 flooding system
• Daily basis inspection of the systems during safety inspection round
• Regular testing of fire hydrant pumps on daily basis of smooth operations
• Regular inspection of fire hose box, fire hydrants and hose reels and replace if found damaged. o ISO documentation work o Preparation of EHS SOP's and its implementation at vol U2 plant
• Safety training and drills
• Impart safety awareness tool box talk to employees & contract workers on daily basis
• To impart various Safety related trainings to Employee's and Contract Workers
• To conduct fire trainings on regular basis as per the decided frequency
• To conduct mock drills for legal compliance as per the decided frequency
• To conduct external safety training for legal compliance as per desired frequency
• Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are use and selected as per job activity, quality and storage is in good condition.
• Ensure PPEs to be used & weared by employees as per their job activity
• Ensure all Legal compliances
• To ensure all the legal compliances are met with respect to safety at VOL U2 plant.
• Regular inspection and testing of Lifts, Hoists, Lifting equipments and pressure vessels installed at the plant as per the defined frequency for legal compliance
• To conduct work place are monitoring (Form 37) as per desired frequency.
• To implement any recommendations given by factory inspection with respect to safety. o First Aid Service o Provide first aid treatment as and when required
• Arrange first aid training from external authority for employees.
• Storage and handling of Hazardous materials and its monitoring.
• Inspection of hazardous material storage area as ensure hazardous materials are store, handle with required safety measures of employees.
