Key responsibilities may include:

Sample preparation:Accurately weighing, diluting, and preparing samples for analysis using appropriate techniques depending on the sample matrix and the spectrometer type.

Spectrometer operation:Setting up and operating the spectrometer, including selecting appropriate parameters like wavelength, slit width, and scan range.

Data acquisition:Collecting spectral data from samples using the spectrometer, ensuring proper data quality and integrity.

Data analysis:Interpreting spectral data using specialized software, identifying peaks, calculating concentrations, and performing qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Calibration and maintenance:Regularly calibrating the spectrometer with standard solutions, performing preventative maintenance checks, and troubleshooting technical issues.

Quality control:Adhering to established quality control procedures, documenting results accurately, and monitoring data for consistency and accuracy.

Method development:Assisting in developing and validating new analytical methods using the spectrometer for specific applications.
