Job Description:

Position:          Officer - R&D (Process Development & Synthesis)

Location:          Mundra

Experience:      4 - 5 Years

Industries:       Chemical - MNC

Responsibilities:

  • Synthesis & Process Development:
  • Design, execute, and optimize synthetic routes for the development of small molecules, intermediates, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) etc.
  • Develop and scale up laboratory-based chemical processes to pilot and commercial scales.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize synthetic pathways, ensuring high yields and purity of products.
  • Conduct synthetic organic chemistry experiments, focusing on reaction design, mechanism, and optimization.
  • Conduct experiments involving organic synthesis, purification (chromatography, distillation, crystallization)
  • Ensure the efficient execution of reactions and syntheses, maintaining high standards of accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Lead or contribute to the successful execution of research and development projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, analytical chemistry, and production departments.
  • Analyze and interpret analytical data for process improvement.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and any deviations from planned methods.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate experimental findings and process recommendations.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to junior chemists and other team members when needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols, ensuring proper handling of hazardous chemicals and maintaining a clean, organized lab environment
  • Ensure all activities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in safety training and maintain awareness of best practices for chemical handling and waste disposal.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, including cost reduction, yield enhancement, and reaction efficiency.
  • Research and implement new synthetic methods, techniques, and technologies to advance the company’s capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of synthetic organic chemistry principles, including reaction mechanisms
  • Experience in optimizing reaction conditions to maximize yields and purity
  • Knowledge of scaling up chemical reactions while ensuring product consistency, quality, and safety

 Required Skills:

  • Proficient in designing and executing complex organic reactions, including multi-step syntheses, functional group interconversions, and selective transformations.
  • Skilled in optimizing reaction conditions, such as temperature, solvent, reagents, and reaction time, to achieve high yields and purity.
  • Expertise in a wide range of laboratory techniques, including reflux, distillation, filtration, crystallization, and drying.
  • Interpretation of Analytical data
  • Ability to scale up laboratory-based synthetic processes to pilot- scale or commercial production while maintaining process efficiency and product consistency
  • Process Optimization and cost-effective manufacturing
  • Familiar with safe laboratory practices, including the handling of hazardous chemicals, waste disposal, and ensuring proper PPE

Required Qualification: - M.Sc - Chemistry

Salary :- Upto 7.00 LPA
