Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Workshop Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of cranes and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in workshop management, with expertise in a wide range of cranes and heavy machinery. The Workshop Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations, quality control, safety compliance, and leading a team of technicians to deliver outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workshop Management: Lead and manage the workshop operations, ensuring all maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities for cranes and heavy equipment are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of technicians and mechanics, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance on troubleshooting and repair of various types of cranes (e.g., mobile cranes, tower cranes, crawler cranes) and heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, bulldozers, etc.).
- Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment, minimizing downtime and optimizing asset longevity.
- Quality Control: Ensure all repairs and services are conducted in compliance with industry standards, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement of parts and materials, ensuring optimal inventory levels and quick access to necessary components.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure the workshop environment adheres to all relevant safety regulations and standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure workers are trained in proper safety protocols.
- Customer Interaction: Coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and provide exceptional service and support.
- Reporting: Maintain records of work completed, report on workshop performance, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service delivery, productivity, and cost control.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control workshop budgets, ensuring cost-efficient operations while maintaining high service standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in workshop management, with a focus on cranes and heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of various types of cranes (mobile, tower, crawler, etc.) and heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, etc.).
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading and mentoring a team of technicians.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex technical issues.
- Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the equipment maintenance and repair industry.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients, vendors, and team members effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
