Job Title: Plant Head - Pharma Pellet Manufacturing Facility

Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Head to oversee the operations of our pharmaceutical pellet
manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient plant operations,
focusing on compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), improving production yield, optimizing resource
utilization, and meeting customer and regulatory requirements. The Plant Head will play a crucial role in managing
cross-functional teams, liaising with departments such as marketing, purchase, and HR, and maintaining strong
relationships with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning and Scheduling:
○ Approve and oversee the production planning and schedule to meet customer demands and
regulatory timelines.
○ Ensure timely delivery of products by coordinating with marketing and purchase departments for
customer orders/indents and material availability.
2. Yield and Productivity Management:
○ Identify opportunities for yield improvements and the maximization of drug recovery.
○ Drive initiatives to improve productivity across production processes.
3. Resource Utilization:
○ Optimize the effective utilization of human resources, materials, and machinery.
○ Ensure that plant operations are efficient and cost-effective, minimizing waste and downtime.
4. Compliance and Regulatory Audits:
○ Lead and handle customer and regulatory audits, ensuring compliance with cGMP requirements
and industry regulations.
○ Monitor and ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory standards.
5. Supplier and Vendor Management:
○ Approve and monitor the selection and performance of suppliers for raw materials and packaging
materials.
○ Conduct evaluations and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and timely
delivery of materials.
6. Maintenance and Plant Operations:
○ Oversee and ensure the effective maintenance of plant equipment and machinery, minimizing
downtime.
○ Establish and implement a preventive maintenance plan for plant infrastructure
7. Human Resource Management:
○ Monitor and manage HR activities to ensure efficient manpower planning and address any
employee-related concerns.
○ Foster a positive work environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
8. Reporting and Review:
○ Review monthly reports, including production, quality, and financial performance.
○ Analyze key metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary.
9. Strategic Input:
○ Provide strategic input to senior management on operational improvements, cost control, and
process optimizations.
○ Identify and lead projects to improve overall operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
10. Collaboration:
○ Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, purchase, quality assurance, and
logistics to ensure smooth operations.
○ Ensure clear communication across departments for alignment on production goals and objectives.
11. Other Duties:
○ Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Managing Director to support the growth and success
of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
● Minimum 15-20 years of experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with at least 10 years
in a leadership role.
● In-depth knowledge of GMP regulations, regulatory requirements, and pharmaceutical production processes
specific to pharmaceutical pellets.
● Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
● Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and handle audits and inspections.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
