Job Summary:
The Estimation & Proposal Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost
estimates and quotations for incoming sales leads, ensuring timely delivery of proposals as
per client requirements. The role requires a strong understanding of technical specifications,
fittings, and supportive items related to heavy engineering equipment. The candidate must
align quotations with the company’s capacity, scope, and profitability while ensuring
feasibility and compliance with technical terms.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quotation & Estimation:
o Analyse sales leads and customer requirements to prepare detailed cost
estimates.
o Ensure quotations are prepared accurately and delivered within the
requested timelines.
o Consider material costs, labour, overheads, and other factors in pricing
calculations.

2. Technical Assessment & Compliance:
o Review customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to ensure
technical feasibility.
o Select appropriate fittings and supportive components for equipment
proposals.
o Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company
capabilities.

3. Coordination & Communication:
o Collaborate with the sales, design, and production teams to align proposals
with company capacity and scope.
o Discuss technical and commercial clarifications with customers when
required.

o Maintain communication with vendors and suppliers for material pricing and
cost updates.

4. Process Optimization & Documentation:
o Maintain records of all estimates, quotations, and cost calculations for future
reference.
o Continuously improve the estimation process by incorporating feedback and
market trends.
o Assist in the development of pricing strategies based on cost analysis and
competitive market trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering or a related
field.
 5 to 7 years of experience in cost estimation, quotation preparation, and technical
proposal drafting for heavy engineering equipment.
 Strong knowledge of engineering components, fittings, and supportive items.
 Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
 Experience in cost analysis, vendor negotiations, and market pricing trends.
 Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and estimation software.
 Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
