Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist / Quality Grader / Gems Assorter to join our reputed Gems & Jewellery company in Kolkata. The ideal candidate must have expertise in grading, assessing, and ensuring the quality of gemstones, diamonds, and jewellery while maintaining industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gems & Diamond Grading: Evaluate and grade gemstones and diamonds based on cut, color, clarity, and carat weight.

• Jewellery Quality Assurance: Inspect finished jewellery pieces to ensure they meet company and industry quality standards.

• Assortment & Selection: Classify and assort gemstones based on quality, type, and market value.

• Inspection & Testing: Conduct thorough quality checks using gemological instruments (loupe, microscope, spectroscope, etc.).

• Certification & Compliance: Ensure stones and jewellery adhere to GIA, IGI, BIS, or other international quality standards.

• Defect Identification: Detect and report any defects in gemstones or jewellery settings.

• Process Improvement: Recommend and implement quality control measures to enhance product standards.

• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with sourcing, manufacturing, and sales teams to maintain product integrity.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in gem grading, jewellery quality assurance, or assortment.

• Strong knowledge of precious & semi-precious gemstones, diamonds, and jewellery.

• Familiarity with industry standards (GIA, IGI, BIS, etc.).

• Proficiency in using gemological instruments and quality control tools.

• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.

Qualification:

• Diploma in Jewellery Designing, Gemology, or related field (Mandatory).

• Certifications from GIA, IGI, or other recognized gemology institutes (Preferred).
