The Head of Plant – Flexo Printing

Job Description:

Position : The Head of Plant – Flexo Printing

Job Description : Head of Plant will be responsible for overseeing the entire flexographic printing plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality assurance, maintenance, cost control, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep technical knowledge of flexographic printing processes, strong team management skills, and a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Operations & Production Management

• Lead and manage the overall day-to-day plant operations for flexographic printing, packaging, Mono carton, Flexo label etc.
• Ensure production targets are achieved on time, within budget, and at required quality standards.
• Monitor and optimize machine utilization and production schedules.
• Drive lean manufacturing practices and continuous process improvements.

Quality Control

• Oversee quality assurance systems to ensure output meets customer specifications and industry standards.
• Implement root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plans (CAPA) for quality issues.

Team Management

• Lead and develop a team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff.
• Conduct regular training sessions to upskill the team on new technologies, safety, and best practices.
• Set performance goals and conduct performance reviews.

Maintenance & Technical Oversight

• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance programs are in place for all printing and auxiliary equipment.
• Coordinate with the engineering/maintenance department to minimize downtime.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in all areas of the plant.
• Oversee implementation of ISO standards and environmental policies.

Cost Control & Budgeting

• Manage operational budgets, reduce waste, and drive cost-efficiency measures.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs).

Customer Interaction & Support

• Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to understand client requirements and timelines.
• Participate in client audits, quality discussions, and problem resolution when required.

• Folder and Fluer – 4 & 6 corner,
• Die Cutting, Lamination
• Sheeter
• Lineomatic Flexo – Paper Bags / Book cover
• Slitting, Shrink wrapping
• Forming machine

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Printing Technology, Engineering, or related field. (Diploma holders with extensive experience may also be considered.)
• Minimum 8- 10 years of experience in flexographic printing, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of flexographic printing machines (e.g., CI Flexo, Narrow Web, Label Presses).
• Proven track record in plant management, process optimization, and team leadership.
