Job Title: Mechanical Head – Mining Operations

Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Location: Ramgarh Jharkhand 
Reporting To: General Manager / Operations Head

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Head will be responsible for managing all mechanical equipment, maintenance activities, and engineering functions across the mining operations. The role focuses on ensuring high equipment availability, safety compliance, and cost-effective maintenance practices to support uninterrupted mining activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the mechanical maintenance department at mining sites.

• Plan, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for HEMM (Heavy Earth Moving Machinery), crushers, conveyors, pumps, and plant utilities.

• Ensure optimal performance and availability of all mechanical systems and equipment.

• Coordinate with operations and electrical teams to support production and minimize equipment downtime.

• Develop SOPs and implement best practices in maintenance and repairs.

• Identify root causes of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.

• Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement to avoid stockouts or overstocking.

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and statutory standards (DGMS, OEM guidelines, etc.).

• Plan and execute equipment overhauls, refurbishments, and upgrades.

• Prepare annual maintenance budgets and ensure expenditure remains within approved limits.

• Lead and train mechanical engineers, technicians, and fitters to build a skilled and motivated team.

• Maintain detailed records and reports on maintenance activities, equipment history, and KPI performance.
