Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Overman to oversee underground or open-cast mining operations in a coal mine. The Overman will be responsible for supervising daily activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and optimizing operational efficiency in accordance with statutory mining regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all production and development activities in the assigned section of the mine.

• Ensure compliance with Coal Mines Regulations and other applicable statutory requirements.

• Conduct pre-shift inspections and ensure safety of working conditions before commencing operations.

• Monitor the deployment of manpower, equipment, and resources for effective production.

• Prepare daily shift reports and maintain proper records of operations, safety checks, and incidents.

• Assist in the implementation of safety programs and conduct on-site safety training/toolbox talks.

• Coordinate with engineers, geologists, surveyors, and maintenance teams for smooth functioning of mining operations.

• Report any abnormalities, hazards, or near-miss incidents immediately and initiate corrective actions.
