SHIFT ENGINEER FOR POWER PLANT (O&M) - OPERATION - BILASPUR , CHHATTISGARH
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Shift Engineer to oversee the smooth operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment during assigned shifts. The role involves managing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and operate machines, utilities, and equipment during the shift.

Perform routine and preventive maintenance of electrical/mechanical systems.
-
Respond promptly to breakdowns or equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot issues effectively.

Ensure minimum downtime and optimize machine availability.
-
Maintain shift-wise production or maintenance reports and logbooks.
-
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Safety, etc.) to support continuous operations.

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance checklists.

Ensure adherence to workplace safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards.

Support new installations, testing, and commissioning of equipment if required.

Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
🎓 Qualifications:
-
Education: ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Fitter, or related trade..

Certifications (preferred): PLC/SCADA, Safety Training, TPM, ISO Standards
🛠️ Technical Skills:
-
Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Hands-on experience with industrial machines/tools (lathe, pumps, motors, conveyors, etc.).

Familiar with electrical circuits, control panels, or mechanical systems.

Basic understanding of PLC, VFDs, or automation systems is a plus.
