Job Description:
A DM Plant Operator runs and maintains demineralization (DM) plants to produce high-quality, mineral-free water for industrial processes, involving equipment operation, water quality monitoring, routine maintenance, chemical handling, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. They perform inspections, conduct water testing, adjust chemical dosages, record data, and address any equipment malfunctions to ensure the plant operates efficiently and safely. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Plant Operation: Regularly operate the DM plant to meet water production requirements. 
     
  • Water Quality Control: Monitor water quality, analyze samples, and perform lab work to ensure standards are met. 
     
  • Maintenance: Conduct daily equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs to keep the plant running effectively. 
     
  • Chemical Management: Adjust chemical dosages based on water quality and safely handle chemicals. 
     
  • Data & Compliance: Record operational data, maintain logs, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. 
     
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues, equipment malfunctions, or system failures. 
     
  • Safety & Environment: Ensure the work environment is safe and clean, and adhere to environmental permit requirements. 
     
Skills & Qualifications 
 
  • Ability to operate and maintain plant machinery.
  • Knowledge of water quality parameters and lab analysis.
  • Competence in chemical handling and safety regulations.
  • Basic problem-solving and computer skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
