Job Description:

Position:        Chemist/Sr. Chemist - R&D

Location:        Sarigam

Experience:    3 - 6 Years

Industries:     Chemical

Responsibilities:  

  • Carry out bench scale reactions, run in process tests and deliver on committed timelines

  • Carry out bench scale lab reactions to deliver products in expected yields and quality.
  • Understands safety and hazards of all reactions undertaken and ensure safety practices are followed.
  • Monitors progress of reactions and interprets analytical data.
  • Understands quality specifications for in-process tests and final products and ensures they are met.
  • Documents the actual results of all experiments/synthetic procedures/QC analyses in the right formats.
  • Maintain laboratory equipments
  • Maintains all laboratory / analytical equipment’s as per standards.
  • Calibrates analytical / test equipment as necessary.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly workplace and office.
  • Stocks supplies, verify inventories and orders fresh stocks as required.
  • Communicates results of lab work
  • Documents results and observations per department guidelines (e.g., Lab Notebook, Project Files).
  • Communicates technical results to supervisors, customers and colleagues.
  • Maintains all parameters as required in a shift and records all observations during shift.
  • Compliance to Integrated Management System/Data Management System
  • Understand and follow process & procedures laid down in IMS.
  • Strive for continuous improvement
  • May serve on committees to improve department and company performance related to costs, quality, safety and environment.
  • Work on improving procedures to cut costs, reduce safety hazards, raise purity, or suggest changes to improve batch-to-batch consistency.

 Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of organic chemistry, laboratory techniques and unit operations.
  • Ability to apply theoretical learning to practical problems.
  • Preferable: Knowledge of experiment planning, design, execution and interpretation of results.
  • Preferable: Working knowledge of analytical techniques specifically wet analysis and instrumental methods like GC, HPLC, auto-titration and IR.
  • Skills at problem solving and development of analytical techniques to suit production conditions.
  • Working knowledge of MS word, spreadsheets and database management systems.
  • Skills in communicating results – both oral and written.
  • Quest for continuous improvement in work processes.
  • Must be willing to gain a thorough understanding of department and company quality/operational policies and follow the policies.

 

Required Qualification: -  M.Sc - Organic Chemistry

Salary :-  Upto 6.00 LPA
