Draftsman ( autocad )

Job Description:

The Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, fabrication details, and layout plans using AutoCAD and other CAD tools for various types of steel poles (e.g., swaged poles, tubular poles, high mast poles, decorative lighting poles, transmission poles). The role supports the engineering and production teams by delivering precise drawings aligned with client specifications and industry standards.

📌 Key Responsibilities

🔹 CAD Drafting

• Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and shop floor drawings of steel poles and structures.

• Draft elevation, sectional views, and detail drawings for pole base plates, gussets, flanges, and brackets.

• Revise drawings as per engineer instructions or client feedback.

🔹 Design Interpretation

• Read and interpret engineering sketches, structural layouts, and design specifications.

• Convert design concepts or calculations into detailed CAD drawings.

🔹 Documentation & Control

• Maintain organized drawing files and drawing revision logs.

• Ensure correct drawing versions are issued to fabrication and galvanizing departments.

🔹 Coordination

• Work closely with design engineers, production, and QA/QC teams to ensure drawing accuracy and constructability.

•  Modify drawings based on site inputs or post-inspection corrections.
