A reputed retail and service group based in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant HR Manager to support its human resources function. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, and employee engagement, preferably from the retail, FMCG, or service industries.

Job Summary:
The Assistant HR Manager will be responsible for supporting the full spectrum of human resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, HR operations, statutory compliance, performance management, employee welfare, and documentation. The candidate must be process-driven, people-friendly, and capable of handling day-to-day HR activities in a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Onboarding

Coordinate recruitment activities: sourcing, screening, shortlisting, and scheduling interviews.

Assist in onboarding new employees including document verification, induction, and orientation.

Maintain candidate databases and recruitment records.
2. Employee Records & HR Documentation

Maintain and update employee records in HRMS and physical files.

Ensure all joining, exit, and statutory documentation is in place and up to date.

Handle employment letters, contracts, ID cards, and other employee-related documentation.
3. Payroll Coordination & Attendance Management

Collate attendance, leave records, and timesheets for payroll processing.

Coordinate with the finance department for timely salary disbursement.

Ensure compliance with overtime, shift allowance, and other payroll-related activities.
4. Statutory Compliance & HR Policies

Assist in ensuring compliance with labor laws, employment policies, and HR regulations.

Support audits and inspections related to HR and statutory documentation.

Update employees on HR policies and code of conduct.
5. Employee Relations & Grievance Handling

Act as a point of contact for employee queries and concerns.

Promote a positive work environment through engagement activities and timely conflict resolution.

Support welfare initiatives and communication between management and staff.
6. Performance Management & Training Support

Assist in collecting performance review data and organizing appraisal cycles.

Support training and development initiatives including scheduling, coordination, and attendance tracking.

Maintain training records and feedback forms.
Key Requirements:

Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on HR experience, preferably in retail, manufacturing, or FMCG industries.

Education: Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.

Skills:

Proficiency in HRMS software, Excel, and document handling

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance
