AGM/Senior Manager – Procurement (Raw Materials)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic AGM/Senior Procurement Manager to lead the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of raw materials and consumables for our integrated steel plant, covering Steel Melting Shop (SMS), Mini Blast Furnace (MBF), Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant, and Rolling Mills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials management, vendor development, cost optimization, and procurement strategy with 15-23 years of relevant experience in the steel industry.

Key Responsibilities:

 Raw Material Procurement

• Source and procure key raw materials, including iron ore, pellets, sinter, coking coal, non-coking coal, scrap, ferroalloys, and refractories.
• Oversee procurement for SMS, MBF, DRI, and Rolling Mill units.

 Vendor & Supplier Management

• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable domestic and international suppliers.
• Conduct supplier audits and manage long-term contracts.

 Commercial & Strategic Sourcing

• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms to ensure competitive advantage.
• Implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality.

 Inventory, Logistics & Compliance

• Coordinate with stores, logistics, and production to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Ensure all procurement complies with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.

 Systems & Reporting

• Use SAP MM/ERP for purchase orders, vendor management, and data analysis.
• Generate procurement MIS reports and present insights to management.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Industrial Engineering; MBA (Supply Chain/Operations) preferred.
• 15-23 years of experience in procurement in a steel manufacturing environment.
• Deep understanding of integrated steel plant operations and supply chain.
• Hands-on experience with SAP MM / ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
