Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled piping design engineer with experience in pressure vessel fabrication, piping layout, and related mechanical systems for the oil & gas and chemical industries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, layout, and integration of piping systems connected to pressure vessels and other static equipment in compliance with applicable codes and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed piping designs and layouts associated with pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Prepare and review P&IDs, piping GA drawings, isometric drawings, and support details.
  • Coordinate with the pressure vessel design team to ensure nozzle orientation, accessibility, and maintenance considerations are incorporated.
  • Perform stress analysis using CAESAR II or similar software and recommend proper supports and expansion loops.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII, B31.1/B31.3, API, and other relevant codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, structural engineers, and fabricators during design and manufacturing stages.
  • Generate MTOs (material take-offs), BOMs, and support procurement activities.
  • Conduct design reviews and resolve clashes using 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, E3D, or SolidWorks.
  • Support fabrication and installation with technical documentation, field assistance, and inspections.
  • Participate in HAZOP, model reviews, and constructability reviews as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in piping design engineering, with a focus on pressure vessels or static equipment.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, CADWorx, Plant 3D, or similar piping design tools.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel design and fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes: ASME, API, ASTM, and ANSI.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in a fabrication shop.
