The Project Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end execution and management of Process Equipment (PE) projects. This role demands strong coordination across cross-functional teams, efficient project planning, cost control, and communication to ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality assurance, aligned with internal standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Initiation
- Manage all commercial aspects including preparation and revision of budgets.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to finalize Rev 1 based on Rev 0 inputs.
- Ensure timely approval and achievement of budget targets.
- Project Planning
- Prepare and monitor detailed MRP and execution plans.
- Utilize IT-based project management tools for tracking project progress.
- Apply standard project planning techniques to ensure realistic scheduling and resource allocation.
- Scope Management
- Define, control, and verify project scope to ensure only authorized work is undertaken.
- Identify and document any additional/revised scope items for pricing approval.
- Communication Planning
- Coordinate with internal teams, management, and clients for seamless information flow.
- Ensure clarity and approval of QIPs (Quality Inspection Plans) from customers or designers.
- Cost Management
- Accurately estimate project costs including HR, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure efficient resource utilization to meet budget constraints.
- Monitor financial health and maintain profit margins throughout the project lifecycle.
- Time & Schedule Management
- Track daily project progress using system-generated reports.
- Ensure adherence to timelines and milestone completion.
- Project Execution
- Implement and follow through on the approved execution plan.
- Take corrective actions where necessary to meet deadlines and budgets.
- People Management
- Lead and motivate project team members, set individual KPIs.
- Provide feedback and manage performance through appraisals and development plans.
- QHSE Compliance
- Uphold company QHSE policies, reduce risks, and promote a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards (e.g., DIMS documents).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Timely preparation and approval of project budgets.
- Feasibility and realism of planning and scheduling.
- Clear scope definitions and change management tracking.
- Cost-effectiveness and budget adherence.
- Timely project completion and milestone achievement.
- Compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards.
- Frequency and quality of internal and external communications.
Internal & External Working Relationships:
Internal:
- Coordination with project management, LMW I/Cs, and marketing teams.
External:
- Client communication for service assurance.
- Vendor coordination for procurement and service delivery.
