Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Security Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all retail locations, assets, employees, and customers. This role involves implementing and managing comprehensive security strategies, loss prevention programs, incident response procedures, and risk mitigation measures across stores and warehouses.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Security Operations & Management

  • Develop and implement site-specific security protocols and SOPs.

  • Monitor and manage electronic surveillance systems (CCTV, alarm systems, EAS, etc.).

  • Ensure 24/7 security coverage and rapid response to incidents.

  • Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services.

2. Loss Prevention

  • Identify risks of theft (internal and external), fraud, and shrinkage.

  • Conduct regular audits and surprise checks at stores and warehouses.

  • Train store staff on security awareness and loss prevention practices.

  • Investigate and report thefts, inventory losses, or fraud incidents.

3. Team Leadership

  • Hire, train, and manage in-house and outsourced security personnel.

  • Assign duties, oversee performance, and ensure discipline and professionalism.

  • Organize periodic drills (fire, evacuation, etc.) and training sessions.

4. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.

  • Maintain security logs, visitor records, and incident reports.

  • Oversee compliance with fire safety and emergency preparedness norms.

5. Technology & Surveillance

  • Ensure all surveillance and security equipment is operational.

  • Coordinate with IT for integration of surveillance with ERP/POS for analytics.

  • Evaluate and recommend new security technologies for continuous improvement.


Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and crisis management skills.

  • Sound knowledge of security technologies and loss prevention tools.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Familiarity with retail operations and layout security risks.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, or related field.

  • Certification in Security (e.g., CPP, PSP) preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in corporate/retail security, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

  • Experience in managing third-party security vendors and large teams.

  • Prior experience in organized retail, shopping malls, or large-format stores is highly desirable.


Work Environment:

  • Will require frequent travel across store locations.

  • On-call availability for emergency situations.
