Job Description:
In a coal mine, the Electrical Head, often referred to as the General Manager (Electrical & Mechanical) or a similar title, is responsible for the overall electrical engineering and mechanical maintenance aspects of the mine. This includes ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all electrical equipment, power distribution systems, and machinery used in the mining process.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Head in a Coal Mine:

Power Distribution and Management:Oversees the planning, design, and maintenance of the mine's power distribution system, ensuring a reliable and safe power supply to all areas of the mine.

Equipment Maintenance:Manages the maintenance and repair of all electrical and mechanical equipment used in the mine, including shovels, draglines, conveyor systems, and other machinery.

Safety Compliance:Ensures that all electrical and mechanical systems are in compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards.

Fault Finding and Repair:Responds to electrical and mechanical faults or breakdowns, ensuring that they are quickly and effectively rectified to minimize downtime and disruptions.

Team Management:Supervises and manages a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, technicians, and other support staff.

Resource Management:Manages the budget and resources allocated to the electrical and mechanical department, ensuring that they are used efficiently and effectively.
