Job Description:
A Sr. Electrical Engineer in Coal Mining Operations and Maintenance (O&M) is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment within a coal mine. This role involves a range of activities, including electrical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Preventative Maintenance:Planning and executing preventative maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment in the mine, including motors, pumps, transformers, and other power distribution systems.

Troubleshooting and Repair:Identifying and resolving electrical faults or malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and safe operation.

Safety Compliance:Adhering to all relevant safety regulations and industry standards for electrical equipment in a mine environment.

Equipment Monitoring:Monitoring the performance of electrical equipment, identifying potential problems, and recommending necessary maintenance or repairs.

Performance Reporting:Preparing and maintaining reports on the performance of electrical equipment, identifying areas for improvement, and tracking maintenance activities.

Coordination:Working with other departments (e.g., mechanical, operations) to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure smooth operations.

Contract Management:Managing contracts with vendors for equipment maintenance and repair, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
