Job Description: Deputy General Manager / General Manager - Stores Operations
Location: Kinshasa/Congo
Position Level: Senior Leadership

Position Overview

We seek a strategic leader to oversee multi-store operations, drive operational excellence, and enhance profitability across retail/hypermarket setups. This role demands a results-driven professional to align store operations with organizational goals, optimize customer experience, and lead large teams in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership

    • Develop operational strategies for sales growth, cost efficiency, and market expansion.

    • Set KPIs for store performance, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction.

    • Analyze market trends to adapt strategies for competitive advantage.

  2. Operational Management

    • Oversee daily operations of multiple stores, ensuring compliance with SOPs and brand standards.

    • Optimize supply chain, logistics, and warehousing processes.

    • Implement technology solutions (e.g., POS, inventory systems) to streamline workflows.

  3. Team Development

    • Recruit, train, and mentor Store/Area Managers to foster a high-performance culture.

    • Conduct performance reviews and design career development plans.

  4. Financial Oversight

    • Manage budgets, P&L, and cost-control initiatives to maximize profitability.

    • Analyze financial reports to identify trends and actionable insights.

  5. Customer Experience

    • Drive initiatives to elevate service quality and resolve escalated customer issues.

    • Monitor feedback to refine in-store experiences.

  6. Vendor & Inventory Control

    • Negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective partnerships.

    • Ensure optimal stock levels and minimize shrinkage through audits.

  7. Compliance & Safety

    • Enforce safety protocols and regulatory standards (e.g., health, labor laws).

    • Conduct regular audits for risk mitigation.

  8. Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Logistics, IT, and Marketing teams to align operations with business objectives.


Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma/Graduate/Post Graduate in a relevant field.

  • Experience: 10–15 years in Retail/Hypermarket management, including roles as Store Manager, Area Manager, or Regional Manager.

  • Industry Exposure: Retail, E-Commerce, Quick Commerce, Logistics, or Warehousing.
