Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated Network and Hardware Engineer with 1-2 years of experience in the retail industry to manage and maintain our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in configuring LAN networks, managing internet connections, and handling hardware setups such as CCTV, routers, and modems. In this role, you will ensure the smooth functioning of all network operations across retail locations, optimize connectivity, and support in-store technology systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN (Local Area Network) setups for retail stores, ensuring reliable connectivity and seamless communication across various devices and systems.
- Set up and configure internet connections for retail stores, ensuring high-speed, stable access for point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management, and other business-critical operations.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, modems, and firewalls to ensure smooth and secure network operations.
- Install, set up, and maintain CCTV systems for security purposes, including camera configuration, DVR/NVR setup, and network integration.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot network-related issues such as slow connections, connectivity drops, and hardware failures across retail locations.
- Collaborate with the retail IT team to ensure optimal performance of point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory systems, and other in-store technologies requiring network connectivity.
- Monitor and report network performance regularly, ensuring all retail locations are properly connected and operational.
- Provide on-site and remote support for hardware and network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime for retail operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in network and hardware support, preferably in the retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of LAN network configuration and management, including switches, routers, and modems.
- Experience with internet connectivity setup and troubleshooting, ensuring reliable connections for retail environments.
- Familiarity with configuring and maintaining CCTV systems, including IP cameras, DVR/NVR setups, and network integration.
- Proficiency in common networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and the ability to troubleshoot network issues.
- Ability to quickly diagnose hardware and network issues and implement effective solutions.
