The company is seeking a capable and proactive assistant manager to drive its public relations strategy in a structured and impactful manner. This role is central to enhancing the company’s brand image and building social trust through strategic engagement with media, stakeholders, and consumers.
This position works cross-functionally with internal departments such as Science and Sales to understand initiatives like academic collaborations, hospital outreach, sampling activities, and factory visits. You will also collaborate with internal spokespersons to ensure unified communication.
Together with a PR agency, this role will analyze social insight and develop content strategies that communicate how Yakult adds value to society. Factory visit coordination in collaboration with the factory PR team is also a key element. In addition, the role includes responsibility for handling customer communication, executing events, and managing partnerships with external organizations such as universities, companies, and sports bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Relations & PR Agency Collaboration
- Coordinate with PR agency to develop and implement strategic communication based on public and consumer insights
- Support media engagement across print, television, and digital platforms
- Review and manage press releases, track media coverage, and report to internal stakeholders
- Organise press interviews, conferences, and media events
Corporate PR & CSR Activities
- Plan and execute CSR programmes, including school visits and community initiatives
- Lead brand reputation management, including proactive and reactive communications based on customer feedback, sales complaints, event reactions, and digital engagement
- Manage factory and external tour visits and coordinate with the Factory PR team
- Coordinate co-branded initiatives with universities, companies, and sports organisations
Cross-functional Collaboration (Science & Sales)
- Collaborate with the Science department to support brand visibility at medical and nutrition events
- Align PR messaging with official spokespersons
- Integrate feedback and activity reports from the Sales team (e.g. sampling) into communications strategy
Customer Communication & Internal PR
- Handle customer enquiries and maintain structured records
- Support the creation of internal newsletters and company-wide communications
- Prepare presentation materials and internal reports; liaise across departments
Event & Promotion Management
- Plan and execute PR-driven events including campaign launches and exhibitions
- Manage vendors, scheduling, materials, and media attendance
- Oversee execution and operations at internal and external events
Candidates Profile:
- Ability to adopt multiple perspectives and communicate with clarity from the audience’s point of view, with strong intent and capability in objective corporate branding
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a PR agency or in-house public relations team
- Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with strong business communication skills
- Proven experience managing press releases and media coordination
- High-level skills in internal and external stakeholder coordination and execution
- Experience managing events or CSR activities is an advantage
- Foundational understanding of healthcare or scientific fields is preferred
