Job Description:

A Mining Sirdar is a crucial safety supervisor in underground coal mines, responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for miners. They conduct regular safety inspections, monitor mining operations, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, Mining Sirdars are involved in hazard detection and mitigation, emergency response, and safety training for the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Inspections:

Regularly inspecting the mine for potential hazards, such as unstable roof conditions, gas accumulation, or equipment malfunctions.
Safety Compliance:

Ensuring that all mining activities adhere to established safety regulations and protocols.
Hazard Management:

Identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks within the mine environment.
Emergency Response:

Leading and coordinating emergency response efforts in the event of accidents or incidents, including evacuation procedures and rescue operations.
Training and Awareness:

Conducting safety training sessions for miners, covering topics like hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and first aid.
Documentation and Reporting:

Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
Monitoring Operations:

Overseeing mining activities to ensure they are carried out safely and efficiently.
Maintaining Mine Infrastructure:

Ensuring that roadways, ventilation systems, and other essential mine infrastructure are properly maintained and safe.
