Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision and Management:
    Overseeing the daily operations of the tool room, including supervising staff, scheduling work, and ensuring efficient workflow. 
     
  • Tool Maintenance and Repair:
    Ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained, repaired, and calibrated, and that preventative maintenance schedules are followed. 
     
  • Inventory Management:
    Managing tool room inventory, including tracking tool usage, performing regular audits, and procuring new tools and equipment as needed. 
     
  • Safety Compliance:
    Implementing and enforcing safety procedures and protocols within the tool room to ensure a safe working environment. 
     
  • Coordination and Communication:
    Collaborating with other departments, such as production and engineering, to fulfill tool requirements and resolve any issues. 
     
  • Record Keeping:
    Maintaining accurate records of tool usage, repairs, and inventory levels. 
     
  • Cost Control:
    Managing tool room resources and facilities with a focus on cost control and resource optimization. 
     
  • Process Improvement:
    Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement within the tool room to enhance efficiency and productivity. 
     
  • Training and Development:
    Providing training and guidance to tool room staff on proper tool usage, maintenance, and safety procedures. 
     
  • Technical Expertise:
    Having a strong understanding of various manufacturing processes, tool maintenance techniques, and safety protocols. 
     
Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in tool room management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and procedures.
