Job Description:
An Assistant Mining Surveyor (Survey) provides crucial support to the Mine Surveyor in various surveying tasks related to mining operations. This role involves assisting with measurements, establishing property boundaries, preparing plans and sections, and ensuring accurate surveying for compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Mine Surveyor: The core function is to assist the Mine Surveyor in all aspects of their work, including measurements, leveling, contouring, and traversing.
- Accurate Surveying: Ensuring the precision of surveys, including setting out curves, and preparing plans and sections as required by regulations.
- Maintaining Survey Equipment: May also be involved in the upkeep and maintenance of surveying instruments and equipment.
- Plan and Section Development: Assisting in the creation and maintenance of mine plans, sections, and ventilation system plans.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Contributing to the collection and analysis of survey data for mine planning and other purposes.
- Volume Calculations: May be involved in calculating volumes of materials like ore and waste.
- Maintaining Surface Mapping: Keeping accurate records of surface mapping details.
- Following Instructions: Adhering to instructions from the Mine Surveyor and working under their guidance.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and surveying standards.
