Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Loom Operation & Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of rapier, airjet, and waterjet looms (ITEMA Rapier, Toyota Airjet, Sulzer, Thudokoms Waterjet).
- Ensure optimal loom settings and quick changeovers for multiple fabric constructions and yarn types.
- Minimize breakdowns and stoppages; ensure preventive maintenance plans are strictly followed.
- Fabric Development & Quality:
- Work on high-quality suiting and shirting fabric developments using PV, PC, polyester, and 100% cotton yarns.
- Maintain strict quality control over woven fabric parameters (GSM, width, weave, shade uniformity).
- Coordinate with QA and processing teams for defect reduction and first-time-right output.
- Efficiency & Productivity Management:
- Ensure loom efficiency of more than 95% by optimizing settings, reducing idle time, and improving weaver performance.
- Monitor KPIs such as warp/weft breaks, loom utilization, fabric rejection %, and down time analysis.
- Implement continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S, TPM) across shifts.
- Yarn & Technical Understanding:
- Evaluate incoming yarn quality (TPI, strength, CV%, hairiness) and its impact on loom performance.
- Recommend yarn sourcing improvements based on technical feedback.
- Team Handling & Training:
- Lead and train African workforce/operators to handle looms efficiently and improve skillsets.
- Build a disciplined, motivated, and accountable weaving team culture.
- System & Data Analysis:
- Operate and analyze loom-wise data using SAP (PP or PM module) for production planning, breakdown logging, and material traceability.
- Generate MIS reports for management on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Textile Technology or equivalent.
- Experience: 10–15 years in weaving, with minimum 5 years in managerial role.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in handling ITEMA, Toyota, Sulzer, Thudokoms looms.
- Strong understanding of fabric design, reed/pick setting, take-up/let-off, and warp/weft management.
- Familiar with Weaving software will be preferred.
- SAP Exposure: Must have working knowledge of SAP for production and maintenance modules.
Cultural Fit: Experience in African operations and handling local manpower is essential.
Compensation: USD 1800 – USD 2000 + other perks.
