Job Description:
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and result-oriented Production Engineer with 3–7 years of
experience in the crane or heavy fabrication industry. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, ensuring timely execution of
fabrication and assembly, maintaining quality standards, and driving process improvements
to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute fabrication and assembly operations as per production
schedules.
Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, materials, and machinery for efficient
operations.
Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions for fabrication and mechanical
assembly of cranes.
Monitor production output, productivity, and quality to meet daily and monthly
targets.
Coordinate with design, quality, and procurement teams to resolve production-related
issues.
Supervise shop floor activities, workforce, and subcontractors (if applicable).
Identify bottlenecks, suggest process improvements, and implement lean
manufacturing practices.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on the shop
floor.
Track and report production KPIs – downtime, cycle time, rework, rejection, etc.
Maintain documentation related to production activities, reports, and shift handovers.
Participate in audits and continuous improvement programs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
3–7 years of relevant experience in production/fabrication/assembly in crane or heavy
equipment manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of welding processes, structural fabrication, machining, and
mechanical assemblies.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and process sheets.
Hands-on experience in managing a fabrication or assembly shop floor.
Knowledge of production planning, inventory control and ERP systems is an
advantage.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and root cause analysis tools
Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and team management skills.
Good communication and documentation abilities.
