A Senior Chemist (QC Lab) is a professional responsible for overseeing and conducting quality control testing in a laboratory setting. They ensure that products and materials meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves a combination of analytical testing, data analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting, often with a focus on maintaining compliance and improving quality control processes.
Key Responsibilities:

Analytical Testing:Conducting a variety of chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using techniques like HPLC, GC, titrations, and other analytical methods.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:Analyzing test results, identifying deviations from established standards, and interpreting data to assess product quality.

Documentation:Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all testing procedures, results, and deviations, often following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Troubleshooting:Investigating and resolving quality-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.

Quality Control Processes:Developing, implementing, and improving quality control procedures and protocols to ensure product consistency and compliance.

Equipment Maintenance:Ensuring laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly.

Collaboration:Working closely with other departments, such as production and research and development, to address quality concerns and improve processes.

Mentorship:May be involved in training and mentoring junior chemists or laboratory staff.

Regulatory Compliance:Ensuring that all laboratory activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
