Job Description:

Requirement: 1 Nos.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Production Supervision
  • Oversee day-to-day machining operations (turning, boring, drilling, grinding, CNC, etc.).
  • Allocate jobs and monitor workflow to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Review job orders, engineering drawings, and specifications for machining tasks.
  1. Workforce Management
  • Supervise machinists, CNC operators, and support workers on the shop floor.
  • Assign tasks based on skill level and machine availability.
  • Train and mentor new operators and ensure skill development of team members.
  1. Quality Assurance
  • Ensure machined components meet required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Work with the Quality Control team to minimize rework and scrap.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and guide workers in maintaining quality standards.
  1. Equipment & Tooling Management
  • Ensure machines are well maintained and calibrated.
  • Oversee tool and fixture availability for all operations.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
  1. Process Improvement
  • Identify areas to improve machining processes, cycle time, and productivity.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and 5S practices in the machine shop.
  • Reduce tool wear, idle time, and material wastage through process optimization.
  1. Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce safety protocols and machine guarding practices.
  • Conduct safety briefings and ensure proper PPE usage.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO/OSHA standards and company policies.
  1. Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain production logs, downtime records, and weekly & monthly plan reports.
  • Monitor daily output, machine utilization, and work force efficiency.
  • Report deviations, delays, or quality issues to production management.
  1. Cross-Department Coordination
  • Coordinate with Planning, Design, and Assembly departments for job priorities.
  • Communicate status updates and resolve issues affecting delivery.
  1. Educational Qualification:
  • Diploma or B-Tech in Tool room/ Mechanical Engineering.
  • Well versed knowledge on Auto-Cad (drawing reading).
  • Knowledge on Cylinder manufacturing will be extra advantage.
  1. Experience required:
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Machine Shop or Tool room.
