Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with strong commercial skills
Experience: Minimum 15 years total, with at least 10 years of experience in heading the department
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager – Purchase / Supply Chain to lead and manage the procurement function across our paper and chemical plants. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial insight, negotiation skills, and deep expertise in purchasing capital goods, engineering stores, industrial chemicals, and raw materials such as pulp and waste paper.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead all purchasing functions for paper and chemical manufacturing units.
- Manage procurement of capital goods, engineering spares, industrial chemicals, and other plant-related materials.
- Ensure procurement is completed within defined budget and timelines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with reliable and cost-effective vendors and service providers.
- Monitor and control inventory levels to meet operational standards.
- Negotiate best possible terms with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
- Implement and manage ERP systems for procurement operations.
- Coordinate with Accounts and Commercial departments for seamless processes.
Preferred Experience:
- Purchase of engineering stores, capital equipment, industrial chemicals, pulp, and waste paper.
- Prior experience in paper, chemical, or manufacturing industries will be advantageous.
