Job Description:

The Client is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of IndiaIt acts as a liaison between industry, government, and civil society through advisory and consultative processes. The client is industry-led and industry-managed, with a large membership base representing both private and public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs. 

Background to the Role

Our Client has been the Market Leader for Trade Fairs and Business Exhibitions in India for over the last four decades. With Revenues in excess of 100 Crores (profitability: 25 Crores); this division contributes significantly to the revenue which otherwise relies primarily on Corporate funding for its operations. This role therefore is of vital importance as it is responsible for Revenue Generation.


Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
• Take ownership of the Profit/ Loss of Shows/ Projects of the existing Events and drive overall profitability; Devise strategies to streamline existing Projects and work towards augmenting/ creating new ones.
• Responsible for creating and executing new shows, concepts, projects to meet the changing needs and requirements; Increase turnover and surplus year on year.
• Responsible for Management and Operations by ensuring seamless delivery of multiple projects across the country including small, medium and large size Exhibitions and Events.
• Establishing goals - short & long term budgets & developing business plans for the achievement of these goals.
• Work towards promoting Brand India and the Indian Industry overseas thorough marquee Events and Exhibitions.

Job Description

• Building relationships with various level business decision makers for the growth of the organization.
• Work closely with the Government and CEO’s of the respective Industry Sectors and Partners who drive the agenda of the Business while still taking care of the overall developmental agenda for CII.
• Team management & strategizing the work flow in the events and organization.
• Responsible for internal & external communication creating & implementing a comprehensive marketing, communications & public relations program.

Educational Qualifications

• Post Graduate – Preferably MBA in Marketing


Experience

• 15-20 years’ experience in the Exhibition Industry (Marketing/ Sales with Media or Service Industry preferred.)
• Experience in building relationships with various level business decision makers for the growth of the organization.
• Proven track record of having run a similar operation / business with P&L responsibility in a strategic role.
• Strong Commercial Acumen.
• Proven Project Management/ execution experience

• Ability to conceptualize new ideas and execute these.
• Strategic Business perspective combined with a strong Execution ability.

Job Specification

• Strong capabilities in Partnership and Alliance building, as well as Negotiations.
• Good understanding of the Indian Industry and Economy.
• Ability to work with and relate to senior leaders in Industry & Government
• Keen Business acumen.
• Ability to lead strong and diverse teams.
• Effective and efficient general management skills, customer service and quality management in trade exhibitions and business events in India.
• Should be capable of enhancing profitability; developing and implementing strong growth initiatives.
