Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Development
  • Collaborate closely with designers to convert design concepts into production-ready prototypes.
  • Source appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories as per the seasonal design brief and budget.
  • Ensure adherence to brand aesthetics while maintaining feasibility for production and costing.
  • Develop and refine new techniques (embroidery, surface ornamentation, finishes) in coordination with design R&D.
  1. Sampling & Prototyping
  • Coordinate with internal sampling teams and vendors to execute prototypes
  • Maintain sampling T&A calendars, ensuring timely deliveries for seasonal launches or trunk shows.
  • Review fit samples and ensure timely corrections and approvals from the design team.
  1. Vendor & Artisan Coordination
  • Liaise with artisans, karigars, and external vendors for sourcing, sampling, and production.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure clarity in technical specifications and quality expectations.
  • Travel to vendors’ locations when required for development follow-ups.
  1. Quality & Specification Control
  • Prepare and manage detailed tech packs, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and specification sheets.
  • Ensure all developments meet the required quality standards before they move into bulk production.
  • Identify and resolve potential production challenges early in the development phase.
  1. Inventory & Material Management
  • Work with the inventory team to monitor fabric stock, trims, and development resources.
  • Avoid overproduction or wastage by planning efficient material consumption patterns.
  1. Retail Readiness & Visual Uniformity
  • Ensure each product’s swatch, size set, tags, and accessories are standardized for multi-store rollouts.
  • Align on the final product presentation in stores as per the brand visual codes.
  1. Time & Action Calendar Management
  • Create, maintain, and enforce the Time & Action calendar for all designers.
  • Ensure adherence to key milestones including sketch submissions, sampling deadlines, fittings, and final approvals.
  • Flag delays and bottlenecks in design execution and escalate when required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design or Textile Technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development within a fashion/luxury brand.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, costing, fabric behaviour, and embroideries
  • Strong communication, time management, and multitasking ability.
