							Job Description:
Position: Trainee Officer - QA/QC
Location: Silvassa
Experience: 0 - 1 Years
Industries: Steel
Responsibilities:
- Quality Inspection & Testing
- Assist in performing in-process and final inspection of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished steel products.
- Conduct mechanical tests (e.g., tensile, hardness, impact) and chemical analysis (in coordination with the lab).
- Inspect surface defects, dimensions, tolerances, and ensure adherence to quality standards (IS/ASTM/EN, etc.).
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain inspection reports, test certificates (TCs), and quality records.
- Support in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports.
- Assist in maintaining calibration records of measuring instruments.
- Process Monitoring
- Support quality audits at various stages of production (melting, rolling, heat treatment, etc.).
- Record process deviations and escalate non-conformities to senior QC personnel.
- Monitor product traceability and assist in maintaining batch-wise documentation.
- Quality Systems & Standards
- Learn and support implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other applicable standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective & preventive action (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Follow 5S, TPM, and other quality initiatives.
- Coordination
- Work with production, maintenance, and dispatch teams to ensure quality goals are met.
- Assist in handling customer quality complaints and inspections.
Required Skills:
- Basic understanding of steel manufacturing processes (e.g., rolling, heat treatment, casting).
- Knowledge of QA/QC tools and techniques (7 QC tools, sampling plans, etc.).
- Familiarity with quality standards like ISO, IS, ASTM, etc.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a high-pressure manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of ERP/SAP is a plus.
