Job Description:

 Position:          Purchase Officer

Location:          Vapi

Experience:      3 - 4 Years

Industries:       Chemical

 

Responsibilities:        

  • Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, and service capabilities.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service agreements to secure optimal contracts.
  • Process purchase requisitions, generate and follow up on purchase orders in the system.
  • Track order confirmations, delivery schedules, and logistics to ensure on-time receipt.
  • Conduct market research and supplier benchmarking to uncover cost-saving and quality-improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to clarify specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues, discrepancies, and supplier disputes promptly.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor files, and contract documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports, forecasts, and budget analyses for management review.
  • Manage inventory levels in coordination with warehousing to prevent stockouts or overstock.
  • Support annual procurement planning, budgeting, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and train junior procurement staff on best practices, systems, and policies.
  • Liaise with finance to validate invoices and expedite timely payments.
  • Evaluate and implement e-procurement tools, automation, and process enhancements.
  • Conduct supplier audits and facilitate incoming quality inspections.
  • Develop and maintain a vendor database with updated profiles and performance metrics.
  • Assist in risk assessment and mitigation planning for potential supply-chain disruptions.
  • Coordinate with legal on NDAs, contracts, and compliance documentation.
  • Support internal and external procurement audits and compliance reviews.
  • Manage procurement for both manufacturing raw materials and trading goods, ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards.
  • Monitor global market trends, commodity price movements, and competitor offers to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Implement inventory optimization strategies—such as just-in-time and safety-stock models—to balance working capital and service levels.
  • Coordinate with production, warehousing, and sales teams to align supply with demand across manufacturing and trading divisions.
  • Manage reverse logistics, returns, and vendor claim processes for both traded goods and manufactured products.
  • Lead procurement activities for new product launches, plant expansions, and capital expenditure projects.
  • Maintain full project procurement documentation, including contracts, change orders, and audit trails.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Tally/ERP/etc. procurement modules.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, Gujarati and Hindi.

 

Required Qualification:-  Any Graduation
