1.) A Works Manager oversees daily operations, production processes, and staff within a

factory or plant to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. In JEHEL,

the works manager will be responsible for 5 major functions – Fabrication,

Machining, Assembly, Maintenance and Cylinder.

2.) They are responsible for managing and optimizing production schedules, maintaining

equipment, ensuring plant hygiene and cleanliness, implementing safety protocols, and

controlling costs. 

3.) Essentially, they ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the entire production or

operational unit. 

 

Key Responsibilities of a Works Manager:

 Production Management:

 Developing and implementing production plans, schedules, and strategies. 

 Monitoring and optimizing production processes to meet output targets. 

 Ensuring quality control throughout the production cycle. 

 Staff Management / Man Management:

 Supervising and directing production staff, including hiring, training, and

performance management. 

 Fostering a positive and productive work environment. 

 Equipment Management:

 Maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure optimal performance. 

 Implementing preventative maintenance programs. 

 Wastage Removal

 Safety and Compliance:

 Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. 

 Implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures. 

 Budget Management:

 Monitoring and controlling the factory or plant budget. 

 Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures. 

 Relationship Management:

 Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders. 

 Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless operations.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 Strong leadership and management skills.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 Experience in production management and manufacturing processes.

 Knowledge of safety and quality control procedures.

 Problem-solving and decision-making skills.

 Budget management and cost control experience.

 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

 Knowledge of KAIZEN, SIX SIGMA and similar modern technologies in production.

 Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO)

 Knowledge of Labour laws, Factory Act, Shops and Establishment Act, etc.

 Knowledge on Hydraulic equipment. (Preferred)

 Experienced in handling trade unions, worker grievances, absenteeism control.

Hard Core Bengali Candidate. Must Read, Write & Speak fluently in Bengali.
