Job Description:

Role Overview


We are seeking a seasoned Senior Design Engineering Manager to lead our design team.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of lithium-ion battery pack design
along with strong team management experience (10–15 people). This role demands a
blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to drive innovation,
reliability, and compliance across our product line.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead and mentor a design team of 10–15 engineers, ensuring high performance,
knowledge growth, and goal alignment.
• Oversee end-to-end design and development of lithium-ion battery packs for 2W,
3W, 4W, BESS, solar, and industrial applications.
• Guide the architecture, mechanical structure, enclosure design, and thermal
management of battery packs.

• Ensure that designs meet performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and
compliance standards (ARAI, AIS, IEC, etc.).
• Review and approve engineering drawings, CAD models, and tolerance stacks
(GD&T, CD&T).
• Drive the implementation of best practices in DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and validation
processes.
• Collaborate with R&D, testing, production, quality, and sourcing teams for
seamless integration.
• Lead design reviews and ensure cost-effective and scalable solutions are
implemented.
• Keep abreast of the latest in battery technologies and bring innovative concepts to
product design and improvement.
• Maintain and review BOMs, material selection, prototyping timelines, and product
documentation.

Key Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics
Engineering.
• 12–20 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in lithium battery, EV,
or energy storage domains.
• Proven track record of managing engineering teams (10–15 people) with
successful product launches.
• Expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) and mechanical design of
battery components.
• Deep understanding of plastics, sheet metal, die-cast, machined, welded, and
extruded components.
• Hands-on knowledge of GD&T, CD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing
processes.
• Strong experience with ARAI, AIS, IEC standards and product compliance
processes.
• Exposure to BMS systems, cell chemistry, and safety standards is a plus.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
