Job Description:

Supervise and Manage Staff:Lead and coordinate a team of operators and other staff during the assigned shift, allocating tasks and ensuring they are trained and follow protocols.

Monitor Equipment and Operations:Oversee the operation and performance of RMHS equipment, such as conveyors, stackers, and reclaimers.

Ensure Safety and Compliance:Enforce safety regulations and environmental compliance, especially concerning dust control and material handling.

Manage Material Flow:Monitor and manage the inbound and outbound movement of raw materials like iron ore and coal.

Maintain Production Standards:Ensure that production targets and quality standards are met during the shift.

Coordinate with Other Departments:Collaborate with logistics, procurement, maintenance, and other teams to maintain smooth operations.

Troubleshoot Issues:Promptly identify and resolve operational problems and equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.

Record Keeping and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of shift operations, production data, and equipment performance, and prepare reports for management.

Implement Emergency Procedures:Develop and implement emergency response plans for unforeseen incidents.

Optimize Processes:Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings within the RMHS department.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of raw material handling systems, equipment operation, and process monitoring.
- Leadership and Management: Ability to supervise, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for coordinating with various teams and reporting.
- Safety Awareness: A strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
- Adaptability: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Relevant Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role within raw material handling or similar industrial environments.

Company Profile
The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
