Designation: QA / QC Lead


Experience: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry

Job Location: Sahupuram, Tuticorin

Salary Range:
 Best in industry + Benefits 

Working Days: 5 days a week (Mon to Fri) and (Sat and Sun fixed off)

Work Timings: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

JOB ROLE 

  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality management systems (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and industry-specific standards.
  • Manage documentation including SOPs, control plans, risk assessments, and CAPA processes.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives across production and support departments.
  1. Quality Control:
  • Lead QC testing for raw materials, in-process samples, intermediates, and finished products.
  • Supervise testing using equipment such as Spectrophotometers for color matching, Particle Size Analyzers, pH, and moisture testers etc
  • Review and approve COAs (Certificates of Analysis) for outgoing products.
  1. Color Matching & Standardization:
  • Lead the color matching process to ensure pigments meet customer and internal standards for hue, chroma, and lightness.
  • Maintain a color database and manage masterbatch and standard development.
  • Use color measurement tools (e.g., Datacolor) for evaluation and matching.
  • Ensure batch-to-batch color consistency and resolve any variation issues in coordination with production.
  1. Application Laboratory:
  • Oversee the Application Lab for testing pigment performance in various end-use systems such as Paints & coatings, Plastics, Cement and concrete, Ceramics or paper etc
  • Support the Sales/Marketing team with application trials, product demos, and customer-specific formulations.
  • Evaluate pigment attributes like dispersibility, weather resistance, hiding power, compatibility, etc.
  • Evaluate samples collected from customers, suggest closest match and prepare report.
  1. Customer and Supplier Quality:
  • Address and resolve customer complaints with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support for customer audits, trials, and feedback sessions.
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on quality and consistency of incoming raw materials.
  1. Team & Compliance Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of QA/QC chemists, lab technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
  • Manage laboratory calibration, equipment upkeep, and training.

Qualifications:

  • Education:  M.Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry.
  • Experience: 12+ years of experience in QA/QC, with minimum 5 years in a leadership role in pigments or colorants manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in color science, analytical instrumentation, pigment dispersion, and formulation.

Key Competencies:

  • Expertise in inorganic pigment chemistry (e.g., iron oxides, chromium oxides, titanium dioxide).
  • Strong understanding of color science and colorimetry tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-departmental coordination skills.
