Purchase Engineer

Job Description:

• Supplier Management:Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for raw materials, components, and services. 
• Procurement & Negotiation:Conduct procurement activities, including preparing purchase orders, negotiating prices, and managing long-term supplier relationships. 
• Quality Assurance:Ensure that sourced materials and components meet quality standards and are delivered on time to prevent production line stoppages. 
• Inventory Control:Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the stores department to maintain minimum stock levels, avoiding both shortages and overstocking. 
• Cost Management:Work to achieve cost savings and competitive pricing from suppliers while ensuring quality and timely delivery. 
• Vendor Relationship Management:Address and resolve any supply, quality, or invoicing issues that arise with vendors. 
• NPD Support:For new product development (NPD) roles, ensure the timely procurement of parts and manage the implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). 
• Import Experience:For some roles, experience with importing materials from international suppliers is a plus
