Job Description:

The Production Shift Incharge is responsible for overseeing and managing all production activities during their assigned shift. This includes supervising staff, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and minimizing downtime.


Key Responsibilities:

Production & Operations:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise production activities during the shift.

  • Ensure the achievement of daily/shift-wise production targets in terms of quantity, quality, and efficiency.

  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.

  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.

  • Troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime and delays.

Team Supervision:

  • Supervise and guide production workers, machine operators, and technicians.

  • Assign tasks and monitor performance of the shift team.

  • Conduct shift handovers and communicate issues to incoming/outgoing shift incharge and management.

  • Provide on-the-job training to new and existing employees.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure adherence to product quality standards and specifications.

  • Coordinate with the Quality Control team to resolve quality issues during the shift.

  • Record and report any non-conformance and participate in root cause analysis.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce company safety policies and procedures.

  • Conduct safety checks and ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Respond promptly to any accidents or emergencies during the shift.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain shift production records, logs, and reports.

  • Submit daily shift reports detailing output, downtime, quality issues, and workforce attendance.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of production data in ERP or manual systems.


Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).

    Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management skills.

    • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.

    • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    • Knowledge of safety and quality standards (ISO, GMP, etc.).

    • Familiarity with ERP systems and basic computer proficiency.

    • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
