Job Description:

The Loading Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the loading and unloading operations of goods, ensuring timely, accurate, and safe handling of materials. The role includes supervising loading staff, coordinating with warehouse and transport teams, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring proper documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

📦 Loading & Unloading Operations

• Supervise loading/unloading of goods into/out of trucks, containers, or warehouse docks.

• Ensure goods are loaded according to delivery schedules, routes, and weight distribution guidelines.

• Monitor the proper handling of fragile, hazardous, or perishable materials.

🚚 Coordination & Dispatch

• Coordinate with warehouse, dispatch, and transport teams for timely vehicle movement.

• Ensure the correct documentation (invoices, delivery notes, etc.) accompanies each shipment.

• Assign trucks and bays to avoid delays or congestion.

👥 Team Management

• Manage and supervise loading laborers, forklift drivers, and helpers during shifts.

• Delegate tasks and monitor individual and team performance.

• Provide training on safe loading practices and company procedures.

⚠️ Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Conduct routine checks of loading equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).

• Report any safety incidents or near-misses and participate in investigations.

📝 Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of loading activities, vehicle movements, and workforce attendance.

• Report any discrepancies, damages, or delays to the warehouse or logistics manager.

• Use WMS/ERP systems for real-time inventory and shipment updates.

Qualifications & Experience:

🎓 Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

• Diploma in Logistics, Warehouse Management, or related field (preferred)

🛠 Experience:

• 2–4 years of experience in warehouse or loading operations

• Previous supervisory experience in a similar role is an advantage

Key Skills:

• Strong leadership and team supervision

• Knowledge of safe loading techniques and equipment

• Familiarity with warehouse systems (WMS/ERP)

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Good communication and coordination skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift/move medium-weight packages

• Standing/walking for long periods

• Comfortable working in warehouse or outdoor loading areas

• Flexibility for shift work and overtime
