Hiring Paint and Ceiling Supervisor for Real Estate Company - Ghana Location

Job Description:

Objective:
The Paint and Ceiling Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in the painting works and gypsum ceiling installation with quality, safety, and timely completion of the work in Multi-story residential/commercial building project.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Execution

• Review drawings and specifications for ceiling layouts, levels, and details.
• Supervise setting out, framing, boarding, and finishing of gypsum ceilings (suspended, false ceilings, bulkheads, coves, etc.).
• Monitor cutting, fixing, jointing, and surface finishing of gypsum boards.
• Ensure proper installation of accessories (cornices, edge trims, lighting openings, access panels, etc.).
• Coordinate with MEP teams to allow for service penetrations and fixture installations.
• Check alignment, level, and plumb of frames and finished surfaces.
• Inspect materials for compliance with standards (moisture-resistant boards, fire- rated boards where required).
• Supervise surface preparation (plastering checks, sanding, putty application, primer coats).
• Ensure correct use of materials (primers, emulsion paints, enamel, textured coatings, decorative finishes, etc.).
• Check mixing ratios, application techniques, and drying times.
• Monitor painting sequence for ceilings, walls, woodworks, and metal surfaces.
• Ensure uniformity of color, texture, and coverage.
• Coordinate touch-ups and final finishing works.
• Prevent and resolve paint defects (blistering, peeling, cracking, uneven finishes).

Quality Control

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, method statements, and QA/QC requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and approve completed works before handover.
• Maintain records of inspections, checklists, and approvals.
• Report and rectify any non-conformities.

Coordination
Coordinate with site engineers and other trade supervisors for sequencing.
Communicate issues and suggest resolutions to site management.
Act as the link between project management, subcontractors, and workers.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain daily work progress records.
• Prepare and submit manpower and material consumption reports.
• Record and report site measurements, mock-ups, and approvals.

Safety Compliance

• Ensure all workers follow PPE and safety protocols.
• Identify and mitigate any hazards during tile cutting or handling.

Skills and Competencies Required

• Proven experience in paint and all types of false ceiling works on multi-story building projects.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Hands-on experience in supervising plumbing teams.
• Eye for detail and quality finishing.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Hands-on experience in supervising plumbing teams.
